About Great Aussie Photo Tours

Great Aussie Photo Tours was born from the joy of photography, appreciation of the Australian landscape and a love of sharing.

Landscape Photography and Road Tripping!

Greg’s love of landscape photography sparked the creation of the Great Aussie Road Trip project. In 2008, Canon Australia sponsored the first photographic adventure, a four month road trip of mainland Australia.

With wife Rachel and two young daughters (Jasmine and Jemma) in tow, Greg’s photography featured in commercial catalogues, marketing material and travel magazines. View some of Greg’s mainland Australia landscape images in the Mainland gallery.

Tasmania

In 2009, Teddy was born. Many more photographic trips across Australia followed with the highlight being a nine week Tassie adventure in 2011. The landscapes on offer were absolutely stunning.

The highlight of the trip was a four night stay at Mt Field National Park in southern Tasmania. Featuring three waterfalls, lush rainforest and incredible alpine valleys, the family decided a move would be a fantastic lifestyle change.

Within a year the family moved to the Park after purchasing the cafe in the visitor centre. Greg quickly added a gallery to highlight the incredible landscapes on offer within the Park and surrounds. View a selection of Tasmanian landscape images in the Tasmania gallery.

A Personal Project

After the initial shock of discovering how diverse Mt Field National Park was, Greg decided to embark on a long term project to photographically document the Park. His plan is to shoot as much on offer as possible, from the smallest spiders and insects to the epic glaciated alpine landscapes.

“I honestly feel blessed to have access to this incredible Park right in my backyard. There is something very special about the connection you feel with nature, and to photograph it adds another level.”

At some point, Greg is looking forward to publishing a stunning photographic book to highlight Mt Field in all its diversity. You can get a taste of Greg’s work in Mt Field by watching his short video: Mt Field National Park: Pure Diversity.
